The Vale Golf Course
The Vale Golf Resort is located only 12 miles from Cardiff and amid 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside. Both the golf courses have been host to a number of PGA golf tournaments over the years, the latest being the Wales Challenge 2009, and provide a challenging yet enjoyable days golf for any golfing holiday or corporate golf day in Wales.
The golf courses offer a mixture of mature wooded areas, wide and narrow fairways and vast areas of water features. The Wales National at 7,433 yards of the championship tees, is one of the longest outside America with hole 6 being voted as one of the top 10 par 4's in the UK. The Lake Course, slightly shorter at 6,436 yards, is just as challenging and aptly named with water coming into play on 12 of its 18 holes.
In the Vale Academy we have a view of becoming one of Europe's great golf coaching academies. With expert golf coaching and tuition, the Vale Academy provides everyone with the opportunity to take up golf in Wales. State-of the art coaching video equipment, GASP advanced coaching systems (used by Sky Sports) makes us one of a limited number of institutions for golf in Wales that can boast these facilties.
The Wales National Course
The Wales National Golf Course is destined to be one of the greatest UK inland courses. Take it on and you will find mature woodland, fearsome bunkers, tricky water features and USGA standard greens combine to make a challenging but enjotable round of golf.
The golf course boasts some of the UK's finest scenery, a mixture of mature wooded areas, wide and narrow fairways and vast water and bunker features, all set in the spectacular countryside of Wales, with its abundance of wildlife including badgers, swans, rabbits and hawks.
The par 73 Wales National golf course, opened in June 2003 by Great Britain Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, has already played host to several European Challenge Tour and Seniors Tour events as well as some for the Europo Tour. The golf course was also the venue for the Sky-televised FIRSTPLUS Wales Seniors Open and SWALEC Wales Challenge.
The Lakes Golf Course
The Lakes Course with is a fine golf course layout in its own right and is highly regarded for natural beauty. Both golf courses offer the UK's leading facilities and some of the finest golf in Britain!
One of two exceptional UK golf courses at the Vale Resort, the well-established and aptly named par 72 Lake Course - which has staged numerous Wales and West PGA professional championships - is dominated by a 20-acre lake and has water coming into play on 12 of its holes. Its 8th hole looks down over the largest heronry in Wales. Its unique signature hole, The Island Green (12th), is ranked one of UK golf courses top golf holes.
