Bro Hof Slott Golf Club
Bro Hof Slott Golf Club located near Stockholm, Sweden, had one ultimate goal ... "to be the best". The Stadium Course is an awe inspiring piece of architecture, and their second course, The Castle Course has now opened.
Entering the gates of Bro Hof Slott Golf Club, you are welcomed by the stunning clubhouse. The present castle was erected in 1888 and was given an appearance that was typical of that era - Baroque with elements of Empire. The castle was restored to its former 19th century glory and opened as a clubhouse with a new terrace in August 2006.
Bro Hof’s surroundings are unbelievably beautiful and, for the first time in twenty years, a course has been built right by the water. Robert Trent Jones, who has been synonymous with the ultimate in golf design for over 30 years, has finally designed a course in Sweden. It is probable that no other course in the world has had such specified requirements.
World Class Golf Courses
Here in this beautiful part of the Swedish countryside lies some truly world glass golf courses. The Stadium Course is ranked #1 by Golf Digest and Svensk Golf since opening in September 2007. At nearly 8,000 yards, Bro Hof Slott is the longest course we've ever designed. The owner requested huge flexibility in being able to set up the course for tournaments and everyday play.
Average players will do well to avoid hazards by aiming for the colour green and staying way from the colour blue. Risk/reward options abound on holes such as number fifteen, a dogleg left around a lake that might allow gamblers to reach the peninsula green in two shots. Number eighteen, which-along with seventeen-will hold up to 70,000 spectators, can be set up as a drivable par four or a longer test.
The Bro Hof was constructed without compromise. Although the harsh Northern European climate places restrictions on average Scandinavian golf courses, Bro Hof was built using innovative techniques in irrigation and drainage to create optimal playing conditions for as long as seven months each year - a rarity in the region.
