Castle Stuart Links Golf Course
Castle Stuart Links Golf Course maybe one of latest to join the ranks of links golf, but the natural landscape will makes it appear it has been around for many years. The Highlands of Scotland is a magical place for golf, and you'll go far to try and find a challenge better than this golf resort.
Castle Stuart Golf Links is a true championship links course overlooking the Moray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle, Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse perhaps the most notable.
The golf course's name comes from the 17th-century Scottish Castle that is a mere ten minute walk from the 1st tee, and is the work of two Americans, Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse. Wanting to create a Turnberry of the Highlands might sound like a very ambitious target, but with his track record it seems unlikely that Mark Parsinen’s latest project will fall short.
The man who brought us well admired and well renowned Kingsbarns Links near St Andrews, has now put the finishing touches to what will surely become regarded as a classic links on the Moray Firth with fescue grasses, mature gorse, broom and heather defining a course that offers golfers panoramic views and yet another reason to book a flight to Inverness.
Castle Stuart Clubhouse
The striking 'art deco' design of the Castle Stuart Clubhouse emphasises a desire to present, what many consider, stunning views over the Moray Firth from each of the three floors of the clubhouse. The ground floor is organised around views from the golf shop, restaurant and bar and provides easy access to a patio overlooking the practice putting green, the Moray Firth and beyond.
The second floor locker rooms and "wrap around balcony" are also conceived with the panoramic views in mind. The third floor comprises a lounge and dining area with balcony available for private use.
